Water soluable thread is a staple spun poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) thread that has been specifically developed to replace conventional basting or tacking threads in apparel manufacturing. It will dissolve when immersed or sprayed with warm water.
The advantage is no need to unpick temporary stitching and also helps to prevent damages that may occur to fabrics or seams while unpicking.
